Marlink is launching a new cloud platform for its maritime customers as it looks to bring a more efficient IT set-up to customers. XChange NextGen is an edge cloud platform that aims to enable ship operators to deliver scalable, cyber secure digital operations that improve fleet efficiency, compliance, and operational continuity. Marlink announced the platform launch, March 17.

XChange NextGen aims to provide a single, robust platform that unifies connectivity, network management, cybersecurity, cloud services and IIoT applications within a single scalable edge architecture. It has been designed to help reduce capital investment and eliminate fragmented onboard infrastructure. The platform integrates cyber resilience, access control and disaster recovery as native capabilities. The platform enables operators to deploy, scale and co-manage services onboard and across hybrid networks, supporting regulatory compliance, operational continuity and full visibility from ship to shore.

“As fleets accelerate digital transformation, they need platforms that are built for control and scalability, not constraint. XChange NextGen gives ship operators the freedom to design their own digital environment on a secure, unified foundation. It reduces complexity, lowers hardware dependency, and ensures their platform evolves as their operational and regulatory requirements change,” Tore Morten Olsen, president of Maritime, for Marlink, said in a statement.
